Alexander County Schools’ administration announced employee retention bonus
Alexander County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hefner announced an employee retention bonus will be included in the December payroll (direct deposit) for permanent employees. All employees working in permanent positions for 20 to 40 hours per week will receive a $1,000 bonus. Employees must have been employed on September 1, 2021, to receive the bonus, and be actively employed on December 21, 2021. Employees working in permanent positions less than 20 hours per week and who have worked at least 10 hours a month in September, October, and November 2021, will receive a $500 bonus.
The bonus is an effort to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, promote student learning recovery, educational excellence, and reward employees for all the extra responsibility they have assumed during the pandemic.
A second retention bonus is in the works for the end of the school year.
