Samantha Bowers named NC Science Teachers Association (NCSTA) District 7 Outstanding  Elementary School Science Teacher for 2020

Samantha Bowers was selected as the NC Science Teachers Association (NCSTA) District 7 Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Bowers will be recognized at the 51st Annual NCSTA Awards Ceremony, Thursday, November 5.

"Mrs. Bowers is creative and innovative in her approach and has been involved in the district planning for Learning-Focused lessons in science. She sets high standards for herself and her students and then works hard to see that they are accomplished. She is constantly broadening her knowledge, improving her skills, and sharing with her colleagues what she has learned," stated her principal, Mrs. Charmion Frizsell.

The NCSTA District Outstanding Science Teacher Award is given to a person exhibiting leadership in science education, contributing to improvements in science education, and excelling in the aspects of science education in the elementary school setting. This honor is determined by other science educators throughout NC and serves as recognition of Samantha Bowers' professional excellence and contributions to science education in North Carolina.
