ACS Public Education Foundation
The Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) corporation established to secure and manage funds to enhance the educational opportunities of students in Alexander County.
The foundation will fund grants for local teachers to assist in financial literacy projects, prepare students for college and the workforce, increase the graduation rate, and other projects. Individuals, businesses, and organizations can donate to the foundation for specific projects or to advance the overall mission of the foundation.

The scholarship applications listed below are linked to the ACHS Scholarship page. The page is only open during the application period. All scholarship applications should be returned to ACHS counseling department. If you have questions regarding any of these applications, please contact ACHS at 828-632-7063.
Cougar Vision Scholarship
- $1,000 to deserving senior
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Student intends to complete four-year degree program or degree or certification from community college or trade school

Awards of $500 will be made for educational experiences or training which will result in teachers' improved classroom effectiveness in the area(s) of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Deadline September 30th.
ACS Sports Hall of Fame
2023 Inductees: Darrell Adkins, Johnny Bruce (accepted by his wife, Greta Bruce), and James de la Riva
The purpose of the Alexander County Sports Hall of Fame is to recognize and perpetuate the noteworthy sportsman traditions of Alexander County by honoring and memorializing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to sports traditions in Alexander County.
