Educational Choices in Alexander County Schools

Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement classes are rigorous, college level classes offered at high school.  Students can receive credit at a university for successful completion of the class and standardized exam.

Alexander Early College

Alexander Early College is the highest-performing school in the district as measured by graduation rate and EOC scores. The school provides a supportive environment where students can earn an associate's degree while completing coursework for their diploma. This tuition-free option allows students to receive advice from academic and counseling staff and was established to help make higher education more accessible for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. 

Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Career and College Promise (CCP)

Career and College Promise is NC's tuition-free dual enrollment program. Eligible HS students (juniors and seniors) can earn college credits while completing coursework for their HS diploma.

 

 

Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment is another name for the Career and College Promise program (CCP). Students can take college classes tuition-free while earning credits towards a high school diploma and an associate degree from college. Students can pursue an associate's degree, technical credentials, or transfer to a four-year university.
