Alexander Central's Cougar Connect Club, a club that connects students with all abilities, hosted their annual kickball game on Friday, April 30, 2021. This year the game was deemed "Kicks for Kady Memorial Kickball Game" in memory of Kady Elder, a former student of Mrs. Amanda Marshall's who truly left her mark on Alexander Central and all those who knew her by her constant smile and the joy she protrayed. Typically, this game is between Alexander Cental and South Caldwell's Special Olympic athletes however, due to COVID restrictions it was decided that this be an in-house event. Students in Mrs. Amanda Marshall's class and Mrs. Sherry Trull's class were divided into two teams as well as members of the Cougar Connect Club to play a kickball game. Both teams fought hard and ended the game with a score of 13-13. The All-Star band provided constant entertainment and kept the crowd going. The cheerleaders cheered giving encouragement to all the players. The MAD Choir sang the National Anthem and were then joined by the Cougar Connect Club as they sang "Amazing Grace" to honor Kady. This was a school-wide inclusive event that we felt fortunate to be able to have. We are thankful to be at a school that promotes and celebrates unity!!!!! Amanda Marshall - ACHS
