History of Alexander County Chapter of NCAEOP
The Alexander Chapter of NCAEOP was organized in October of 1973 with thirteen members present. Mrs. Jean St. Clair, Secretary to the Superintendent, planned and carried out the meeting. It was decided to hold quarterly meetings. (Later it was established to be the second Tuesday of the month.)
During the first meeting, it was decided to work toward the state plan of the Professional Standards Program.
In March 1977, ten Alexander County office personnel received their Advanced Associate Certification for having satisfactorily fulfilled the requirements of the Professional Standards Program.
The chapter also decided to provide a $50 scholarship to a deserving senior who wishes to continue their education in the business field. Each member of the chapter paid $2.50 yearly for the scholarship and $1 for dues.
