I grew up in the Hiddenite Community and  attended Hiddenite Elementary, East Jr. High, and ACHS.  I attended CVCC and graduated from UNC Charlotte majoring in Finance.  I worked in the banking industry for several years before going back to school.   I attended the NC Teach program at Lenoir-Rhyne and began my teaching career with Alexander County Schools, first at East and now here at West.  I have taught 6th and 7th grade Math for 15 years.  This is my 4th year in Career and Technical Education.  My focus this year will be information technology and careers.  I now live in the Hiddenite community and have 2 children.  My oldest child, Mattie, is a senior at App State. My youngest child, Karlee, is a sophomore at Alexander Central.
