Mrs. Teresa Riddle
Hello and welcome to my homepage. Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a 27 year veteran teacher of Catawba and Alexander Counties. I have been at East since 1998, and I started teaching 8th grade math 20 years ago. In 2013, I moved to teach in two new subjects which are Science and Social Studies. I have greatly enjoyed both. I am presently teaching science. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a BS in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Math and Science. I added a Social Studies certification in 2012. I am an active NCAE member, at present the county President, which is a teachers professional organization that helps to support and stand for their rights of educators in government. I am married to Greg, and we have two sons. I am very involved in my church, Hiddenite Baptist, where I teach Sunday School, sing in the choir, coordinate VBS, and work with the youth and children. I love every minute of it! I am a huge Charlotte Panthers and App State fan, and I love to watch all types of sports. I hope to get to know some about what you like to do in your personal time as well. But most of all, I hope that we can have a great year and learn a lot about science and math.
During this time of Distance Learning, 8th grade has set up a Remote Learning Daily Schedule which is linked here.
My lessons can be found in Google Classroom for each class. There will be video instruction with an assignment for each week. The hours posted on the daily schedule above will be for video Q&A time if you have any questions. Turn in any assignment by the end of that week, and I will post the new material and assignment by 8 am on Mondays.
If for some reason you cannot complete the online lessons, there will be weekly packets available at the school. Turn in previous packet when you pick up the new packet each week.
Remember, you can reach me through email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Remind (text @h8dab7 to 81010) anytime during the day.
