I moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania upon graduation from Elizabethtown College with my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. My teaching career began at Hickory Day School where I taught everything from art to technology as well as grades 5 through 8. In 1999, I married my husband, Scott and we purchased land in Alexander County.
I have been part of the Sugar Loaf family since August of 2001. This August I will be entering my 20th year of teaching. During my tenure here at Sugar Loaf I have taught 5th grade, and have enjoyed it immensely. As a star I have achieved my Masters in Administration and National Board Certification, as well as Teacher of the Year and have been awarded the Bright Ideas Grant.
Scott and I have two daughters. Our oldest completed Sugar Loaf and is now at Alexander Early College and our youngest, Leah is at Sugar Loaf. We enjoy spending time attending University of Tennessee ball games and fishing at Stone Mountain.
