Degrees and Certifications:
Master's Degree in Elem. Ed. National Board Certification
Miss Cindy M. Greene
I have been assigned a K-1 combination class for Alexander County School's Virtual Academy! I will still be stationed at Sugar Laof School, where I've been the past 18 years.
I grew up in (the real) upstate New York, on the eastern end of Lake Ontario near the Canadian border. Pure maple syrup, cheese curd, and snow are popular items from my hometown area. Growing up, I enjoyed fishing, swimming, water skiing, and playing sports! I graduated from Jefferson Community College and SUNY Fredonia while living in NY. I have lived in Alexander County for 17 of my 26 years in NC. My current interests are riding my bicycle, traveling, reading, spending time with my dog Libby, and becoming a healthier woman!
I received my Masters in Education from Gardner-Webb University, and recently achieved my National Board Certification renewal. My entire 18 year teaching career has been at Sugar Loaf Elementary. I look forward to my 19th year. My goal for teaching is to integrate laughter and fun, into what is a busy school year, filled with a rigorous curriculum. Be prepared for your children to be challenged, as they learn critical thinking skills and answer essential questions throughout their Kindergarten and 1st grade school year.
This will be an interesting, somewhat apprehensive, and innovative school year. There will be uncertanties and changes, never before seen, in the classroom. I will stay in close contact with parents throughout the year, with pertinent information.
