I grew up in Hiddenite, NC and attended Hiddenite Elementary, East Junior High, and graduated from Alexander Central in 1995. I received my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1999. I am proud to be a LRU Bear alumni. I started teaching in Catawba County at Clyde Campbell Elementary. I taught fifth grade for four years at Clyde Campbell before moving to Charlotte, NC. I taught fifth grade at Weddington Hills Elementary in Cabarrus County for four years before moving to Boger Elementary in Cabarrus County. I taught fifth grade for three years at Boger. During my time at Boger I ran into my husband, Mark, at our high school homecoming game in October 2007. I moved back to Alexander County in April of 2009 and Mark and I were married in August of 2009. In 2010, I accepted the position at Sugar Loaf Elementary where I currently still teach fifth grade.
Mark and I have a beautiful daughter, Brailey Grace, who attends Sugar Loaf and loves it dearly. I also have a step daughter, Darion Harrington, who attends Alexander Central High School. We have a white boxer, Jackson, that thinks he is human instead of a dog.
We live in the Sugar Loaf district in Alexander County and love it here. I think this is a wonderful place to teach and raise a family.
