Welcome to Mrs. Allen’s 3^rd Grade Classroom

     I wanted to welcome you to our new classroom and tell you a little bit about myself. I have been teaching here at SPE for quite a few years now. I have spent most of my teaching years in 3^rd grade, but I have also taught Kindergarten, first, second and fourth. I am a graduate of Gardner Webb University and I not only hold elementary teaching credentials but I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from GWU. I earned both a pharmacy technician certificate and an Associate in Arts Degree from Mitchell Community College, before going to Gardner Webb. I had a little trouble deciding what I wanted to be when I grew up and kept changing my mind as you can tell from the previous information.

    I live in Statesville with my husband, Keith, our daughter Elianna, our dogs Scrappy and Shadow, and a cat named Buttercup. My oldest, Christopher, lives in Statesville and works at Lowe’s Corporate in Mooresville in the IT dept. Lauren my middle child, is a stay at home mom, and has blessed us with three “grandboys”; Dustyn, Bryden and Cayden and a granddaughter Addalynn! 

     I enjoy playing on the computer and spending time with my family. The “grands” spend lots of time at Mimi and PeaPaw’s house during the summer and on weekends. I love to read all genres of books and journal write. My favorite place to visit or vacation is the beach, pretty much any beach will do! I simply can not get enough of the surf, sand and ocean. I love to just lie in the sun and soak up it’s rays. My second favorite place to hang out is the swimming pool. I love the water! We also tent camp in the mountains because Mr. Allen loves the mountains.

    I look forward to spending this school year with each and every one of you and hope you will have a spectacular 3^rd grade year!
