I first became band director of the Alexander Central High School Band in August of 1979. I resigned in 2003 to work full time in church music, then returned to ACHS in 2012. I am a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University with a Bachelor's degree in of Music Education. My wife, Tammy, and I have been married for 40+ years. We have two sons and four grandchildren. We live in Hickory.

Your instrument in good working order. Make sure to thoroughly clean your instrument.

If you play a school owned instrument, one will be assigned to you. No instruments are to be shared.

Valve oil/slide grease for brass instruments

Lyre to fit your instrument

Sticks/Mallets for percussion

Facemask for band with an opening to fit your mouthpiece.
