Vision & Goals

Welcome to my 7^th grade English Language Arts class. I am looking forward to getting to know the staff, parents, and students. Working together to help all students succeed. As parents and guardians, I understand that you are the most important teachers in your child’s life and it is with that understanding that I appreciate the role that we both play in the partnership to achieve the goals set forth for your son or daughter.

My Classroom Mission

My mission is to transition into the classroom with the knowledge and the intension to inspire each student with my love of language arts and creative writing skills. I am super excited to share my AVID knowledge as I hope to encourage each student to find their own creativity through expression of interactive collaboration. WICOR | Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, & Reading. It is my full intention to inspire each student with my love of language arts and creative writing skills.  I hope to encourage each student to find their own creative expression through learning the 21^st century skills of technology and interactive collaboration with peers.

About Me

I was born and raised in Missouri. However, in 2005, I moved to North Carolina. I have a Master of Arts in Education/Curriculum and Instruction, a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on studying education, and additional educational courses that include social studies/world history. I am also enrolled at Appalachian State University to expand my teaching license for middle and secondary schools (6-12). I am a coach, mentor, mother, and a proud grandparent. I love my little fur babies, nine dogs and two cats. I have one daughter and two grandsons, ages two and almost four. We like to travel and ride the sand dunes when we have the opportunity to vacation.
