Testing & Accountability

Testing is a tool that schools use to measure schools' and students' progress. The tests and assessments include teacher-made, state-made, and national checks. It is important for parents and students to ensure young people are getting enough rest and healthy meals--consistently--but especially during testing windows.

The Testing & Accountability team promotes continuous improvement and accountability along with providing support to the system and individual schools through analysis of assessment results and interpretation of a variety of school performance data.  Accurate data and statistically appropriate reports are provided to instructional leaders and the Alexander County Board of Education to sustain efforts to improvement student achievement.

The Testing & Accountability Department ensures that the State Board of Education Policies and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Guidelines related to the administration and assessment of students is enacted fairly and with fidelity.  Development and support of school test coordinators at all schools in Alexander County Schools ensures the integrity of the data collection process so the most accurate and complete information is used to measure student improvement and report results.

If you have any questions, please contact The Testing & Accountability Department of Alexander County Schools.
