Alexander County Schools Health program has measures in place to address parental consent for medical treatments provided at school. Pnly school nurses and trained school staff can administer medications and perform medical procedures following a medical provider’s order and with parent/guardian consent on file. This does not include first aid or emergency care.
Health services provided by School Nurses and school staff may include evaluation for illness and injury as well as vision, hearing, and dental screenings. Our practice is get permission for such screenings. If you have any questions about health matters regarding your child, please call your school's nurse.
