North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Exceptional Children Division
The mission of the Exceptional Children Division is to ensure that students with disabilities develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, and vocationally through the provision of an appropriate individualized program in the least restricted environment.

The 2025-2026 Exceptional Children Parent Survey is open. If you have more than one child with a disability receiving services, you can fill out the survey for each child. The survey is open until June 30, 2026.
