Enrolling Your Child:
Welcome to Alexander County Schools! Below you will find information to guide you through the process of enrolling your child as a new student in our district. We are happy to have you and look forward to working with your student.
Step 1 - School Assignment
The Alexander County Board of Education believes that in almost all cases a student should attend the school that serves their residence. If you have questions about school assignment, please call the Central Services office at 828-632-7001.
Step 2 - Collect Required Documentation
The following documentation must be presented at the school office for enrollment to be completed.
- Certified Birth Certificate
- Parent / Guardian photo ID
- Record of Immunizations
- Health Assessment completed by a doctor (only applies to students who have NOT attended a NC Public School in the past)
- Last report card, withdrawal documentation, or transcript from previous school (if available)
- Current proof of residency in the attendance area of enrolling school.
- Sports Physical (Grades 6-12) if the student will play a school sponsored sport.
Step 3 - Complete the Online Enrollment Application
- Click on the "26-27 New To The District Online Registration" Tab below. When you completed and submitted your application you should receive a confirmation email.
Step 4 - Complete the Enrollment Process at Your New School
Make an appointment with the school your child will be attending. Be sure to bring all documentation as listed above, even if you uploaded it in the online application.
If you are living with a friend or family member, they must accompany you to your appointment with their lease or deed and a notarized statement indicating that you and your child(ren) are living with them.
All Returning Students will complete the online registration through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
