My name is Yvonne Miller and I am from and still reside in the Stony Point Community.  I have taught at East for 21 years and this is my 22th year in Sixth Grade and I have taught for a total of 24 years.  I always knew I would be a teacher and feel it is my calling.  I earned my degrees from Mitchell Community College, Lenoir-Rhyne College, and Gardner-Webb University.  I feel that as a teacher one of my biggest jobs is to continue my own learning so I can best help my students. 

My greatest joy outside of school is spending time with my family. I am the mother of 5 children, 2 stepsons and grandmother of 15 grandbabies.  I love attending church, reading, baking, traveling, and spending time with family.  I truly believe that every child can learn if we understand that they all learn at their own pace and style.
