I grew up around Canton, Ohio and graduated from Jackson High School. My desire to work with kids and my passion for math led me to West Liberty University in West Virginia.  I graduated with an Elementary Education degree (K-8) and a math minor (5-8).  After graduation, I moved to Taylorsville and started teaching at Sugar Loaf Elementary School in 2001. At the end of my first year teaching, I met my husband, Bradley.  We got married in 2003 and had our daughter, Katelyn, in 2004 and our son, Braxton, in 2015.  I received my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University in 2008 and my National Board Recertification in 2015.  I have taught fifth grade for 10 years, fourth grade for 7 years, second grade for 3 years, and eighth grade for 1 year.  I am beginning my 22nd year teaching and will be teaching eighth grade math at East Alexander Middle School.  I absolutely believe God has called me to teach the kids at East.  I feel blessed to have this opportunity and will make it my daily goal to make a difference in each of their lives.  

 

We live in Hiddenite and attend Crosspoint Church. I love to run, watch football, play volleyball and spend time with my family.  I have run four half-marathons and have enjoyed getting back on the road recently.  I am a big Ohio State and University of Oregon fan.
