BOE meeting to discuss middle and high school safe return to learn plans
Brianna Jimison and Madison Hennessee advanced to the regional spelling bee competition at the Carolina Panthers stadium on Sunday, March 21. The competition went 20 rounds with Jimison winning the regional event by correctly spelling the word interrelate. Jimison will compete in the National Spelling Bee in June.
Twenty-two students representing Alexander County’s elementary, middle, and virtual schools were invited to compete for the top honor of Spelling Bee Champion. Brianna Jimison, Virtual Academy student, won the competition with Madison Hennessee, West Alexander Middle School student, placing second. Read more and see the slide show by clicking the title.
Alexander County School Nutrition Department will be providing meals for all children 18 years old and younger during Spring Break. We are currently accepting sign-ups for the last five days of the break - April 7 through April 11. To receive meals you must complete the request form linked. This form is separate from the earlier form required for the first 7 days of meals during Spring Break. If you have questions, please call the School Nutrition office (828) 632-7001.
